5 Tips for A Roofing Season Fast Start

All across North America, spring is in the air and roofing season is beginning amid the challenges in the roofing materials industry.

Are you ready to take advantage? Or maybe a fast start is really needed if we want to hit our goals this year.

I doubt you need anyone to tell you all the ways that the wheels may be falling off the bus; I’ve seen plenty lately. Heck, TODAY asphalt shingle prices went up about 20%.

But every coin has two sides and I think there’s truth in the expression that every dark cloud has a silver lining. For today, let’s look at the bright side as I show you 5 things you can do this week to begin building momentum for your 2022 roofing season.

Roofing Season Is Here and Moving Quickly

First, there are many areas that have an abundance of roof replacement work that is needed. Insurance companies, especially in areas where storms are prevalent, have been sending letters to homeowners telling them their roof is uninsurable. It MUST be replaced.

I know several people who’ve gotten such a letter and it creates an “oh crap” moment for the homeowner. Most will not have saved up for this day and have to figure out how to pay for the work.

To take advantage of this, contact your friends and your network looking for one of these letters. They will exist in neighborhoods where the roofs are 10-15 years old and have not yet been replaced.

Then once you know the neighborhoods that the insurance company is targeting, you can take advantage of my second tip…

So next you want to CHOOSE your ideal or perfect client instead of waiting and hoping for calls to come in. Do the people in your chosen areas know that we’re coming into the best time to replace your roof?

How Do You Choose Your Customer?

Well, in the easiest explanation, you know the neighborhoods you want to work in (dare I say Dominate?) You also can, on sight, see a home that has not had its roof replaced.

If someone resides in your target neighborhood and have not replaced the roof yet, add them to your list.

Third – you may find that there is an another price increase in roof materials cost but you may not realize what a huge incentive you can create to move people off of the fence just prior to the increase.

It also positions you as a hero when your reason for calling on a homeowner who you know needs to replace their roof is to save them money.

Now, up to this point my tips revolve around things you can do which prevent you from being at the mercy of the big platforms. I’ve not mentioned a need to buy leads from a 3rd party lead generation business.

My 4th tip is to remember that you’re selling to people. Generally people buy from people that they like and trust but make no mistake, every one of them approaches things like this differently.

Serious prospects are going to be looking at your website, so start the season off right by taking a look yourself.

Communicating Clearly with A Friend

Clear communication about who your company is and the values you believe in ARE important. If it’s hard for you to write clearly, use the voice recorder on your phone and record you saying the words you want to include on your site.

Fifth, if you’re visible to your prospect when they go online, it’s only a short time before they begin looking for proof that your work is a good as you say.

In years past, 50 customer reviews in Google could open a lot of doors – now it seems that the minimum quantity is 100+ reviews.

So I’ll close with this. I’ve helped a lot of roofers to transform their business with lots of real customer reviews. I developed a training system but it’s only ever been available to private clients.

But this is Holy week and I’m a believer so I’m offering that same system to you for free. Just visit TopRankedRoofer.com and you’ll see it at the bottom of the home page.

But these 5 tips into use and you will see increases in the number of leads you attract and the sales you write.
